Subject: Suppressing the Left Brain Critic
Details: two person scenes, 185, watch a lit candle and repeatedly count to four as you breathe in and out, guided visualization/meditation, 185 again, discussion on the Left Brain Critic and why we did not warm up before jumping into games, scenes while doing tedious things with your hands behind you back, scenes while thinking about a fear (scene is not about your fear), scenes while thinking about a hope (not about your hope), Word at a Time while doing tedious things with your hands behind you back, discussion on making the scenes more real, Wrong, Machine, 1 3 5, Survivor, Do Ron Ron, Rhyming couplets
Memorable: Wes constantly needs feedback. "185 landlords walk into a bar the bartender says, 'It's happy hour!' and the 185 landlords say, 'That's Super!' 'cause their Supers...! get it!?!" If you distract you inner critic, who lives in you left brain, you lose a lot of your fear and are better able to engage in the scene without a second thought and you are also more easily able to lose yourself in the reality of the scene.
